Welcome To, About Tunes.Town!
Hello!
I’m Dave Johnson, founder of Tunes.Town. And I’d like to welcome you to “About Tunes.Town.” This is an introduction to our site, our purpose, and our intent. We aim high and intend to set the bar on integrity in the world of selling songs and lyrics. We believe there’s a great misunderstanding in the industry that has been taken advantage of, and we intend to set it straight. So, read on!
Why I Created Tunes.Town
If you want to know about Tunes.Town, well, here it is! I created this website because there was only one other that I knew of that is somewhat similar, and they are much more expensive than I am. Frankly, about three times the price. I have been a songwriter for over 25 years, and I’m tired of paying the high prices that others charge for us to chase our dreams. So, I’m setting my low prices and keeping things simple here. By doing so, I hope to attract those who find this appealing, and help everybody save some cash.
Since starting this project, I have found a couple other sites that sell just licenses for songs and lyrics. So, there’s a little more competition than I originally thought, but that’s okay. I intend to move forward with this and do my best to provide you all with the best site on the net for buying and selling original songs and original song lyrics.
My Recent Move
I recently moved from the Nashville, Tennessee area where I got a bit involved in the music business. Now, I intend to get involved moreso, and in my own way. I hope you will join me on my crusade! Let’s show ’em what we can do!
The Music Business
It’s hard to break into the music business. But, there is more than one road that leads into Nashville and the Tinsel Town. Maybe you can’t get your songs licensed to the big names in the business. Especially not right away. But, maybe you can get them to the rising stars now. Depending on what your goals in songwriting are, selling your brand new songs or brand new lyrics to up-and-coming artists may get you to where you want to be. Read my music blog, “So You Want To Be A Songwriter,” for more help on pitching your work either way. Which way you go depends on your goals with being a songwriter. But as inexpensive as this site is, I recommend you go both directions. Get maximum exposure! And if you want to know more about the music business and about Tunes.Town, I reccommend you read my blogs. They aren’t just about patting ourself on our back like some others. Read ours, and you will learn some things you really need to know.
What Original Artists Are Looking For
Original artists need original songs. And I don’t mean just original songs, I mean brand new songs and brand new song lyrics. I mean, uncut songs and lyrics. And you can develop a following on Tunes.Town as a go-to person for that. I’ve posted a library of about 100 brand new, uncut, demo songs on here myself, and I hope to sell some of them. Plus, I am posting about 10 previously licensed songs, which are still defined as “Original.” And I’ve also posted about 180 brand new song lyrics. All those lyrics are uncut. And all of those postings could help me support my continued songwriting and this site. So, I hope there will be a lot of Indie and upcoming artists listening and reading here. And I hope to make a great connection that will lead me to where I want to go. I also hope that this site will do that for you. Nope, I can’t promise that it will, but I can promise that you won’t get anywhere if you don’t try. So, join up if you will, and let’s all do this together. And I think, you really need to read my blog entry on, “When You Buy An Original Song, What Are You Really Buying?” I believe you will find that there’s a huge misunderstanding out there about what an “Original” song really means! Don’t be duped by it anymore, if you have been! “Original” doesn’t mean, “uncut.” Read my blog!
So, if you want to know more about Tunes.Town, then keep reading the site. And whether you join us or not, good luck to you in your musical endeavors!
